IBM kündigt IBM Workplace Services Express an. Und ich komme immer noch nicht mit den Produktnamen zurecht. Es ist nicht ein Produkt aus der Reihe IBM Lotus Workplace, es klingt nach einer Kombination von IBM Lotus Workplace Documents und Team Collaboration, es läuft natürlich auf IBM WebSphere und DB2, es kann definitv nicht Mail und es kostet um die 90$ pro User bei maximal 2.000 Seats. Momentan bin ich eher noch verwirrt, auch wenn die Ankündigungen als wirkliche Mittelstandslösung gut klingen:
IBM Workplace Services Express is a new offering that gives small-to-medium sized businesses (SMBs) and departments a cost-effective way to extend some of the most-used IBM Workplace capabilities to users and to business partners.
IBM Workplace Services Express is a fully-integrated, ready-to-use product for letting teams collaborate on documents and projects,” says Bisconti. “It’s easy to install, requires minimal IT resources to deploy and manage, and can be purchased via affordable per-user or per-server-processor licenses, all of which makes it a perfect fit for smaller IT budgets.”
